Aiming to enhance innovation, tourism, technical, cultural, and entertainment facilities in Musandam, H.E. Sayyed Ibrahim Al Busaidi Minister of State and Governor of Musandam has signed an agreement with H.E. Salim al-Aufi Undersecretary of Ministry of Energy and Minerals, and Talal Al Aufi CEO of OQ, to establish Musandam Cultural and Innovation Centre in the Wilayate of Khasab.

The construction of the Centre is sponsored under MEM’s CSR initiative to oversee and highlight CSR efforts across the Sector, in cooperation with Petroleum Development Oman, Occidental Oman, BP Oman, OQ, Daleel Petroleum, CC Energy Development and ARA petroleum. OQ is managing the construction of the center on behalf of the sponsoring companies.

The Centre is an example of the effective cooperation between the states entities, as it contains a cultural Centre which will be managed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youths, and Innovation Centre which will be managed by Ministry of Education. The Centre will also develop the investment sector, which will be managed by the governorate.

The Centre will be established in a strategic location in Khasab over 10000 m2 area. It will contain an Innovation Centre, a Culture Centre, retail spaces, and watersports club for Oman Sail. The Centre is expected to be launched in 2024.
