Ahjaar Mining

In early October  2021, MDO announced the commencement of commercial operation of a gabbro quarry located in Liwa, Al Batinah North, with a capacity of 2.4 million tonnes of gabbro rocks. The project is still in the first phase and the company seeks to gradually increase production to 5 million tonnes. The geological and economic feasibility study conducted by MDO in 2019 found that there’s an extractable amount of ~ 211 million tonnes of gabbro ore in a mine with an average lifetime of 50 years.
